To provide department and post level support that will culminate in vibrant and effective programs serving veterans and this nation’s citizens. AMVETS local and national programs are how we deliver on our promise of preserving freedoms secured by America’s armed forces and enhancing the quality of life for veterans and all citizens. Founded in 1946 to provide for veterans in VA healthcare facilities

ROTC is now recognized as a primary source for recruiting the nation’s military officers.

Since 1987, AMVETS and the AMVETS National Service Foundation have offered this unique educational experience at the Freedoms Foundation.

The Ceremonial Rifle Program affords posts and departments an opportunity to add dignity and class to their honor guard details.

The White Clover, meaning, “remember me” is the official flower of AMVETS, symbolizing  the states from which the U.S. Armed Forces were drawn  the worldwide battlefields on which they fought.

The Patriotism Flag Program, also known as the Flag Award Ceremony recognizes businesses, organizations, and individuals who fly the American Flag properly outside their establishments or homes.

AMVETS is proud to offer scholarships/grants to our nation’s Veterans, Active Duty, Guard and Reserves; their Spouses as well as their Children and Grandchildren.

AMVETS is a chartered partner with the BSA and has a seat on the National BSA Community Relations Committee.

The Ted Leszkiewicz AMVETS Against Drug and Alcohol Abuse program encourages local AMVETS posts to network with local schools and youth groups who are looking for resources to help educate youth about drug and alcohol abuse.

The Future of Our Military Starts with “Americanism”The number of American citizens who qualify to join the military under current standards is quickly decreasing as the country faces the longest period of armed conflict in its history.
